My dog took to this right away! Unpacking this was very simple, as it arrived vacuum sealed in a tightly packed, cube shape. I would have never guessed that this would have been so heavy! Getting passed that initial set of plastic wrap, the bed released and expanded all on its own. There was no stuffing to place or zippers to figure out. The color is a pleasant cool gray color as you can see in the photos. I like that it's not pure white or gray but sort of a peppered, Cool Gray design. The size of this bed is more than enough for my full grown male Shepherd.Contrary to his previous bed, he now has room to lie down and roll about without falling off of the bed or having one of his limbs overextended onto the floor in an uncomfortable way. I'm so happy that the edges of the bed, the outer ring, is actually STURDY and provides support for his neck while sleeping. Great for him as he has a condition known as MEGAESOPHAGUS which affects his throat and head. With this sturdy outer edge, he can keep his head elevated, keeping his throat in a safe position while sleeping to prevent any side effects that can keep him up at night or trigger worse effects afterwards. Sleeping in it as a person, I wouldn't say that this will replace a guest bed or anything, not even a couch, but it is a neat little novelty item to have. If you have a smaller dog, probably up to a medium sized breed dog, lying with your dog in this is a great place to cuddle together, but I couldn't see a person sleeping in this comfortably past the age of 10 or 12.To conclude, this bed is much more comfortable than I initially expected it to be. The setup is remarkably simple, just carefully cut away at the plastic so you do not damage the bed itself. The bottom of the bed has non-slip dimples that keep it from moving too much, even when your dog is adjusting or digging into the bed to make itself comfortable. The size is more than adequate for a large breed dog and would most likely be a great investment for anyone with an extra-large breed dog like a Great Dane or Mastiff. Nothing about the materials feels cheaply made or rushed. The included side pocket allows for you to keep a couple of dog toys or your phone or the remote control for a pet warming pad away from your pet if you decide to place it into the bed to add an extra bit of warmth. The only sort of concern I would have is in regards to the included blanket which is about half the size of a regular throw blanket but cut long ways so it is very tall, but is also very thin. Just an odd shape for a person but more than fine for your pet.
