Instructions were a bit confuing, but managed to put it together without problems and without breaking anything. Thing that I did NOT LIKE was that the rails ARE NOT BLACK. They are a tan color and stick out from underneath the bedskirt. I will need to spray paint them or something, because they look kind of ugly. However the bed frame itself is very nice and sturdy (supports a metal box spring ~50 lbs + 80 lb mattress + 2 people weighing 200 and 140 lbs..who like to bounce on the bed). So the people who have broken legs probably did not assemble the bed probably. That being said, the legs are the hardest part. The frame of the bed pops into the legs, and you might think its popped in the whole way, but you literally have to stand and possibly jump on each leg until it sinks in properly. My body weight of 140 lbs was not enough to do this, so keep that in mind. Otherwise solid bed frame *thumbs up*Headboard and footboard boxed and shipped separately from generic frame (hence why it's not the same color; used for other sets). Boxes arrived with a few damaged support pieces and all zip ties un-done (rough shipment?). I reached out to the manufacture about replacement pieces. The Rep was very nice and extremely helpful. She explained that the slightly oval holes in the leg supports are intentional, so the round holes in the support feet do not slip out. They are a bit challenging to get together, but they are designed to stay together better. I like the simple & classic black of the headboard and footboard. Now I'm just awaiting the replacement support pieces to arrive. I'd give it four stars, if no damage; however A+ for Hillsdale CS!Bed arrived quickly and in good condition, but the "Texture Black" description only applies to the headboard and footboard. The rails are a beige/grey color, and I do not have or use a coverlet so they are exposed and look off, they do not match the headboard. It is described as texture black throughout the item description and I had no reason to believe any part of it was other than black, so be careful ordering.The only reason why I gave this two stars was because it arrived quickly for something so big. BUT what did come in the mail DID NOT deserve 2 stars. First of all the legs on both the top and bottom headboard were bent on one side, enough so to give it this sort of almost toppling over feeling! Another HUGE problem was that they forgot to drill holes in the headboard so that I couldn't even attach it to the rest of the frame! Lastly, there was a long sliver of metal on a leg that was peeled off that sliced my bed sheets! Sending back and crossing my fingers the next one is better.I gave this bedframe to my son I loved it so much I did not want to part with it but I upgraded and got a king bed so I cannot use it anymore which made me sad but he likes it so everyone wins. It is great and I would recommend it to anyone.I've had this frame for about 6 months. The frame is pretty but there are definitely some issues. The headboard came with dents but more importantly, there was no way to screw the headboard to the frame. No threading at all. I purchased parts from the hardware store to fix this, but it is not working properly. It is squeaky and doesn't seem very sturdy. I wish that I could return this, but it is too late. I wouldn't buy this if I had know the issues I would have. Or maybe I just got the lemon.Very nice piece! This looks very pretty in my room and it's pretty sturdy. Assembly was not bad. It's not a "top notch" piece, but for the price, it's very nice!!!Seems like a pretty frame but one piece did not have holes drilled so we are unable to set this up. There is also a section dented.Update: Called the company listed on the insert for support and they said they could not help us and to call the furniture company. Called the furniture company and they said they could not help us and we had to go through the seller. All we needed was one part replaced but because of lousy/non-existent customer support the only option is to return the item.I love my new bed...
