There are good and bad points. Yes, very easy to DIY install. Very simple. I had an older version of this Genesis on a Dodge 99 1500 but sold the truck with it on. And needed another for a 2001 2500. Same size bed in both but the new one has one less rib across the bed. They have cheapened it. Wow 1 less rib support X how many saved the company what? I sure can tell the difference in the support with one less support. I do like the quick release mechanism lever that allows the roll up released on the drivers side. The older one had two cables covered in rubber that you had to pull to release on each side. There was more metal in the older one, vs. now more plastic. Fact is it came damaged, bad poly parts, one was an end cover while the other was the tarp adjustment screw. All plastic. Junk. Lund did get me replacement parts in a very timely fashion. Hassle free. But hey, what isn't today built cheaper? Lund if your reading, yes, I'd pay $100 more for this if it was better quality. And I'd pay even more it all the parts were made in USA. Not everyone feels that way and wants cheap so guess what. You are your own enemy in your demands which causes companies to make their product cheaper. I plan on either ordering another box support or making my own from broom sticks to get the same support as the older version. I also noted it flops more in the wind going down the highway then the older version. I think the tarp itself is about the same mil thick, but just has less support and it flops up and down more.I was looking for a roll up tonneau cover for my 99 ram 2500, and I like this one because it mounts inside the bed and allows me to keep my stake pockets. It installed quickly and easily and is working great!The seller was also great. The tonneau cover arrived with a broken tensioner rod and they had another shipped to me quickly.Easy to install and the fabric on the Elite model is really nice. Easy to set the tension and easy to open and close. Keeps the bed perfectly dry. I have an old Dodge with a "real" bed (8 feet long) and it does just great at highway speeds. No issues. Nice quality product and I got a heck of a price through Amazon.Purchased for 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Short Bed. The rails and cover are made to sit semi flush with rails of the bed. However, the rails the cover are supported by are a bit long. Maybe .5in shorter and itnwould be good. My cover however was defective. But only because where the cover met the head rail, the bead that sits in the track to hold cover had shifted. I was able to slide the rubber seal over but not the cover. So that meant it was roughly 1in to 1.5in to one side. So the velcro or hook and loop would not meet on one side of the cover. The t bolt and a plastic end was also missing from the box. Without the T-Bolt or Square headed Bolt. You can't mount one of the sides of the head rail to side rail. AMAZON refers you to company for missing parts, the company refers you to AMAZON. In the end it was supposed to be warranties but Lund wouldn't do it. So back to AMAZON for defective/warranty claim. Which really means they just refund you after its returned. I would have liked for it to be replaced or a work around found but there was too much finger pointing. The bad service really is what resulted in the bad rating more so then the physical issue with the cover.This cover fit perfectly. Very easy to install took me an hour alone. Only thing that was wrong was that one of the tension screws was broken. That was able to make it work just fineFit perfectly super easy to install only took about 30 mins. Overall would highly recommend.Man this made my 1996 Doge look new, great MOD for the bed of any truck easy of installation.Does what it was intended for
