No zippers, no interior seams, and taught construction make it very difficult for your dog to take a bite out of this nesting bed. fun fact: we initially designed Kevlar dog beds, but they weren't strong enough. We had to invent our own material to stand up to persistent chewers! Machine Washable We craft our industrial strength ballistic nylon with fibers over-spec for consumer grade textiles. This densely woven material resists moisture, dirt, hair, and grime. It's also incredibly easy to clean with just a damp cloth or water hose! For a deep clean, toss it in the washing machine on a cold cycle & let air dry. In case of "accidents", we also included a waterproof membrane which prevents any moisture from seeping through to the floor. We think you're really going to love the convenience of this bed. High Quality Foam Mattress We constructed this dog bed from shredded virgin CertiPUR-USA Foam. We carefully formulated the perfect blend to support the pup that likes to scratch or dig before laying down. We also engineered sewn-in chambers to prevent clumping and shifting. This feature maintains proper support and balanced weight distribution, which enhances your pet's comfort. This bed feels plush and incredibly supportive for very light to very heavy dogs. We know you pup's going to love it! Water Resistant In case of "accidents", we included a water resistant lining which prevents any moisture from seeping through to the mattress. Beds without water resistant coatings absorb urine like a sponge, ending life in a dumpster. Even for dogs who suffer severe incontinence, our bed will stay fresh and clean for a very long time . Wipe to clean, or throw it in the washer for a thorough cleansing. We think you're really going to love the convenience of this bed. For the price I was hoping for a longer life, but it took my 175 lb digger of a Great Dane about a year and a half to get thru the outer cover.I waited awhile to write this review ... Here’s my story: This is Lily, 4 yr old purebred Dalmatian, 57lbs. Lily never tore up her bed until after her one and only litter of puppies . She sleeps in a 42” soft sided crate, on a mattress, covered by a quilted kennel pad and a thick throw blanket. About every 1-2 months I would hear squealing in the bedroom and run to find Lily in a fit of frenzied bed destruction. Fluff and memory foam all over the floor, and Lily looking bewildered as if she didn’t know what had just happened. You can’t get mad because it’s obviously instinct. After replacing her bed at Costco, and with less expensive beds here on Amazon, I realized I had spent enough money to have bought two or three of these K9 ballistic beds. So I decided to try one on the off chance that it could take a licking and keep on ticking.I was impressed with the bed the minute I unwrapped it! It is a well-made thick mattress that comes with a very tough cover that is like a pillowcase that seals with Velcro. No discernible edges or zippers to invite chewing. I had no problem getting the pillow into the cover. The Velcro goes down the middle of the pillow and makes a very tight 1 inch wide seal. I turned that side down to the bottom of the kennel leaving a perfect pillow that was slightly bigger than her kennel. It was not a problem as it fit in there just right with one edge making a little turned up bolster. I’m happy to sayThat she sleeps peacefully and no longer even attempts to dig or chew her bed! She rolls up in her blanket like a burrito. I wasn’t quick enough with the camera to get that picture but you can see her blanket rolled up beside her. I recommend the quilted velvet kennel pad that you can buy here on Amazon because the cover of the bed is slick and I live in a cold climate. This is the best bed out there. Well worth the money ! My other three will be getting this mattress soon even though they don’t tear up their beds because of the comfort and quality level. GET ONE ( be sure and pick this one, not the softer onesI have a (currently) 10month old bulldog that I felt so bad for because every bed I got for her she would devour and ultimately I couldn't leave anything out for her in worry she would choke or get sick. However, this bed truly has made it impossible for her to eat. While it's not the comfiest in regards to texture, she doesn't seem to mind, and I don't as the durability is well worth the trade-off.We got Andy, a 19 week old fawn pug, and soon learned that he's a zipper whiz. I took a 40 minute walk one morning and came home to find him romping in the innards of his cozy doughnut bed. He and his black pug "sister," Ruby were chewing on the stuffing made out of heaven knows what. They were in separate play pens and he managed to "share" his fluffy stuffing. No matter what the stuffing is made of, I know for sure it's not meant to be eaten by pets.Andy looks for zippers to open on his beds,or he chews a little hole in the bed and then extracts the filling through the hole. So I searched for a chew resistant bed and found this one. I left two questions for other Amazon buyers and they were very kindly answered. I wanted to know if the bed was soft for the dog to lie on, and if the covering was noisy when the dog stepped on it.The bed is soft. One person described the covering as similar to heavy canvas and that is a good comparison. It's slick, not porous like canvas would be. It does make some noise when stepped on, it's not like a bed with a soft plush cover, but we wouldn't be looking for this type of bed if those beds worked for our dogs. Both of our pugs lie on it. It's a good bed for outside on the deck playpen on nice days.I'm in awe that any dog can get this Velcro open because my wife can barely do that. The bed came with the inside separate from the covering. We're in our sixties and I couldn't get the cover open to get it on the bed, so she struggled successfully and got the cover on. I had no idea Velcro could be so tough! We haven't washed the bed because we can't get the outer cover off again, so we rinse it with the hose. The bed looks bright and clean, so we're not that motivated to fight with the Velcro again. Our Andy isn't a big time chewer, but he's still teething. He appears to enjoy the challenge of looking for a way to get to the stuffing in beds. He got under this bed when we first gave it to him, and worked on the Velcro, but he couldn't get it open. This bed is excellent quality and I feel confident that he won't be able to damage it. Andy's breeder asked me what kind of bed I'd gotten so I sent her the link to this item after Andy gave it a fair test run. What can I say? I bought this bed and paid FAR more than what I would consider to be reasonable because it's designed to be "chew proof & tough". It lasted less than 3 weeks which is about as long as the $25 bed we had before this one. I will say that the cover is the only thing that was damaged, but my gut tells me it's only a matter of time. I submitted a warranty claim so we'll see if they take are of this. Hopefully, they will.I wouldn't recommend this purchase. I regret it. as I could have purchased multiple dog begs for the price. It's also not all that comfy from a tactile perspective.Skip this one.Got this for our 2 yo JRT who previously had enjoyed but chewed all his beds to pieces.Last one had for only maybe 2 weeks.Anyway did some research and came across this bed . I read a lot of the reviews on this so I had tempered expectations due to some pictures people posted as well as the company saying it was good for "moderate" chewers.Well first and foremost he loves loves loves his little bed actually I got him a medium and it looks like a king when he's laying on it. Got medium bc he has a long torso. He may have tried but there is no evidence of his attempts to chew it to pieces.I can personally vouch for this bed although if anything changes I'll be sure to update as it's a significant amount of money for a bed.
