I bought this barbell to do the traditional olympic lifts - squat, deadlift, bench press, and occasionally power cleans. The bar is made of high quality materials that should last for years. The knurl (grip) is comfortable while providing enough grip for the weight I lift. I'm not competing for a strong man competition, and I don't want to destroy my garage floor with super heavy deadlifts. If I was doing really heavy deadlifts, the knurl might be a little too light. Probably need something more aggressive if doing really heave deadlifts. The thing I like most about the bar is the spin action. I occasionally do power cleans, and this bar has a lot of spin making it great for power cleans.The packaging was top notch. The barbell comes with high density foam around the sleeves wrapped in a bag all inside a really dense cardboard tube that feels like a fishing rod holder. (I kept the tube because it will definitely come in handy for some kind of project or as a rod holder.) The ends of the tube were capped with screws to hold the caps in place.
