Product Description

The Boyd Sleep raised platform bed frame base is a metal mattress foundation which supports your entire mattress, eliminating the need for a box spring. Constructed with 100% anodized steel, this bed base provides a stable and quiet platform. Center leg supports help prevent mattress sagging and increases the life of your mattress. It's designed to be used independently or to fit inside most traditional bed frames, replacing wooden slats. With 14" of clearance space from the floor to the bottom of the side rail, this mattress foundation offers added storage space underneath your bed. The compact folding design makes it easy to transport in narrow spaces, such as doorways, elevators, and stairwells. The Boyd Sleep raised platform bed frame base assembles in minutes with no tools needed, and is compatible with innerspring/coil, memory foam, latex, and hybrid mattresses (sold separately). The Boyd Sleep bed skirt/base cover is compatible with the Boyd Sleep raised platform bed frame base (sold separately). These are strong brackets, and once mounted they work well. The metal of my bed frame is a little too narrow for the brackets to clamp on securely, so I had to rip some 1/8 inch stock to slide in there. And as others have noted, not all frames have holes drilled for the support piece, and I had to drill those as well. Neither of those were very difficult modifications, but be aware that - depending on the frame you are mounting on - you might need to do more than simply bolt it together.Worked wonderfully with my platform bed frame. No disappointment with this purchase.Unlike many or most of the reviews under this heading, my review is for the Flex Form Raised Platform Headboard Brackets. I bought them for my Amazon Basics California King Raised Platform bed frame. The listing uses the term "universal," and since the picture shows a bed frame that looks just like the Amazon Basics bed frame I assumed that it would install without issues. Not quite.First, know that the bracket received does not look like the one pictured. It is larger, and has a triangular shape, but the mounting hooks and headboard slots are probably equivalent. The brackets are very robust steel and the hardware was complete. The installation of the bracket onto the bed frame was easy and went as expected until I came to the support strut that attaches the lower part of the bracket to the leg of the bed frame. This support piece is tapped at both ends and attaches easily to the bracket end with one of the bolts, but - surprise! - there is no hole in the Amazon Basics frame to attach the other end. I solved this by drilling a hole in each leg leg to accommodate these bolts. Problem solved. Apparently, the Flex Form brand bed frame has the appropriate hole drilled in the legs as appears in the instruction sheet.Attaching my older brass headboard presented another small challenge because the slots in the bracket did not match the holes in my headboard. I attached one bolt on each end using the slots in the brackets, then drilled holes in the brackets to match the holes in my headboard.I'm very pleased with the result: a high quality, robust bracket assembly providing a very sturdy headboard support. But unless you are comfortable drilling the necessary holes in the legs of a non-Flex Form brand bed frame, these brackets may not be for you.So, this is a "universal" bracket for mounting a headboard to a metal bedframe. The problem with many "universal" products is that they, frankly, don't fit anything. Long story, short... we had to seriously modify this to use it. 1) The spacers that go between the bracket and the leg of the bed frame were TOO LONG. This is a critical piece of the puzzle. It keeps your headboard from tipping back when you lean against it. (We had to make our own spacers out of 2x4), 2) when properly mounted, the bracket was too narrow to accommodate the legs of our headboard. AND, the instructions indicate that you should be able to move the bracket out to match where your headboard will mount. However, the curve of our bed frame would not allow this. AGAIN, a critical piece. SO, we had to mount an 80" 1x8 to the brackets so that the headboard would mount to that. This bracket should've made for an easy headboard mounting... but it all required a lot of customization. The bracket WAS the vehicle by which we COULD mount a headboard, so there's that. We made it work. But, it did NOT function as advertised for our bed frame. Again... UNIVERSAL = IT FITS NOTHING.For what it is, and for the price I have to give it 5 stars. We recently decided that it was time to ditch our old queen bed, and opted to try a king size. We have 3 dogs who think our bed is their reward for bath day, and I always ended up clinging to the edge. I didn't have a lot of money to spend considering we had to start from scratch as we have always had a queen bed. I figured we could upgrade later but this would get us through. It came 3 days ahead of the estimated delivery date. The box was fairly big and hefty but nothing too bad. I was a little concerned when we opened it and discovered what looked like 2 twin frames. We could see there were places to bolt them together so we gave it the benefit of the doubt and started setting it up. I have to mention, we had just spent a decent amount of time, a few tools, pinched fingers and more than a couple nicks and bruises taking apart our old frame, head and foot board. However, under 5 minutes later with NO tools or battle wounds we had a complete bed frame up and ready for the bed. It was SO simple to put together. It folds out like a cot, and a few bolts and wing nuts and you are set. Painless. I was very pleased with that.Honestly, it didn't look very sturdy. We put a memory foam mattress directly on it and crossed our fingers. 2 nights later, the frame stood up to 2 adults who toss and turn, and the dogs (GSD and Aussie) jumping on and off the bed and it never threatened to collapse. It doesn't slide around, creak or wobble. It is sturdier than it looks, idiot proof to set up, and the price was great. I'd buy it again. I am not even sure w will need to up grade, mos likely just attach a head board in the future.VERY STURDY, BUT TO GET IT TO FIT A FULL SIZE BED TO A FULL/QUEEN HEADBOARD, THE BRACKET WOULDN'T FIT ACROSS THE FRAME OF THE BED BECAUSE OF THE LOCATION OF THE WIRE MATTRESS SUPPORT CONNECTION.Le produit ne convenait pas a notre lit et ne semble pas evident a monter pour que la tete de lit reste bien fixe.
