I thought it was me. I purchased a 3# container of what I thought was the good ole ricotta cheese that I'd been using for years to make a HUGE batch of lasagna. I prepared it that same way I have done for 40 years. I must make lasagna at least twice a year. That means about 80 times, so I do know what I am doing. Never did I EVER have such horrible disgusting lasagna as I did with this ricotta. Galbani took over my favorite Sorrento Ricotta and RUINED IT. My husband and I barely got thru one portion each of the lasagna that I'd slaved over all afternoon. I used almost an entire block of mozzarella, eggs, lots of spices, 2 jars of sauce, 12 giant Angus beef meatballs that I’d roasted and then crushed up in the sauce, a cup of really expensive grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, and an entire box of Barilla lasagna noodles. After eating the one serving each, my husband and I looked at each other and made the most horrible face. Bleeech.I ended up THROWING THE WHOLE BUSINESS IN THE GARBAGE. I can't imagine how much I'd spent on all those ingredients. I'd made one large pan, one small pan and 1 single serving to freeze for later and I had to throw it all way. I couldn't figure out what I'd done wrong. It tasted awful. It was gaggy and mushy with no flavor at all. It was like it never set up after baking. Now after seeing the other reviews I know, it wasn't me, it WAS THAT HORRIBLE RICOTTA. Everyone always RAVES about my lasagna and there is never one bite left over, but this stuff will ruin anything you put it in. This used to be a great product, but not anymore. I just can’t relay to you how disgusting it tasted. This company needs to rethink their recipe because no one will ever buy it, twice.
