Incredibly easy to install. Added remote control. Assembly hangs from ceiling bracket ball mount allowing both hands free for wiring! Tool all of half hour with basic tools. Replaced old fan with Hunter unit.Very quiet pretty fans in white. Perfect is small bedrooms.We had a handyman come in and install this fan and another more expensive one in the master bedroom. The expensive fan from Home Depot was an 'easy install' model and took about half an hour to get up on the ceiling - this one took three! The handyman groaned when he opened the box of this fan and saw how many pieces it came in... it took him an extra hour to assemble the fan before he could install it on our ceiling, and more fiddling around to make it work (not really the fault of the fan, the previous property owners did a really strange job of installing things). He did say it was very complicated and if possible it's highly preferable to get the more expensive fans that are much easier to install. But it looks nice in the room. I didn't need anything fancy, it's just the spare room, I wanted unobtrusive white with a working light, and that's what I got. I did have to buy new pulls for it - the ones that are provided are extremely heavy metal tabs that hang at eye-level and you could easily break your glasses walking into them. Moral - you save a lot of money by buying a made-in-China fan like this one, and it's delivered to your door in a couple of days, but it's going to be a lot of work to get it assembled and mounted!I like Hunter fans a lot. Have purchased a number of them over the years. The quality seems to have slipped though. This new fan is pretty good, but I'm not thrilled with how the fan pull chain operates, (light pull chain is great,) and the mounting system is not as good as the fan it replaced. Highly doubt it will last as long as the one it replaced. Had that one about 20 years and everything still worked great except the fan speed was down to one, instead of three. Plus, the speeds of the new one are slow and output is lacking. We shall see how long this fan will last. Doubtful 20 years. Style and noise level are excellent; exceptionally quiet. Directions are terrible.Our grandson is an installer for a large, nationwide home improvement store & lumber yard and was happy to learn how to install ceiling fans. We bought 4 (but only 3 of this model) and he had them up within a few hours. Ours did not come with a remote, so I can't rate that feature.These are nice basic fans for the money, they look and so far run fine. I will have to follow up whenI have used these for a decent time. If the product works as good as the service in getting them here,I should be in great shape!We installed this in our bedroom over our bed. It looks nice, is quiet, and provides good air flow. I gave it four stars instead of five because of two things: The instruction sheet is very inadequate which caused me to go back and undo some of the work I had done, and number two, the switch to reverse the fan direction is located in a very awkward spot to get to. We have to stand on our bed, reach over and down into the glass bowel where the light bulbs are to get access to the switch. But I guess we will only be doing that 2 or 3 times a year.Great value for the price.
