Really cute fan for little boys room. However, the first one came broken in the box. The “windshield” had come unglued and was loose in the box. Sent back for exchange and the second one came with partially detached “windshield”. Had to glue it back in place. Additionally the bottom lens fits poorly and is difficult to get to stay in position where the hole is covered.Additionally there is no way to have the light come on the preferred color every time. Each time it’s turned on it must be cycled to the preferred color.Bought this fan for my grandsons room and he loves it. As a matter of fact, most people that see it, love it.The headline of this product says “dimmable” right there and that’s a lie. The manufacturer replied to my question confirming this is not dimmable. It’s a marketing ploy to sell the product and I’m reporting them to Amazon. I wasted $300 plus electrician fees.I spent 279 dollars to get this junk, wasting my money.This fan is pretty cheaply made. It looks like a speaker wire from a 80s cheap boombox. There was absolutely no way I was going to install this in my home risking a fire. Not worth the money nor effort.What a cute fan! We get comments on it whenever someone new comes to the house and spots it on the ceiling. It’s perfect for our kids’ playroom!Installation wasn’t too terrible. I’ve installed a number of ceiling fans in the past, and this one was about typical. I was able to install it on my own and did not need a second pair of hands to get it attached to the ceiling, thanks to a bracket to hang the fan on and wiring with quick-connect plugs.The remote has about twice as many buttons as it needs, but is handy. It’s worth noting that the remote is the only way to control this – there are no pull chains on it and I did not see a way to wire the light and the fan into separate switches. So – don’t lose the remote! It did come with a bracket to hang the remote on the wall, which was a godsend for our use case (a playroom where absolutely everything gets lost).I deducted one star because every time I turn the fan on the entire helicopter kicks to the right briefly, then back. This doesn’t seem to be causing any issues, but on first glance it’s alarming.P.S. The white gloves that came in the box were a nice touch, haha.The fan looks awesome and our little boy absolutely loves it. There is some pretty involved assembly required. You'll need a 5/16" crescent wrench and a Phillips head screw driver. We also needed superglue. Upon unboxing we found that the glue used to attach the plastic windshield had dried out and the piece was rattling around inside the fan. Taking it out was easy enough but to get it glued back in we had to unscrew the LED assembly and carefully slide a hand in behind the windshield to hold it while the glue dried. The clamping bracket that holds the tube to the ceiling mount allows for some limited rotation so that the helicopter body can be oriented at different angles. We did this to angle the fan so that the front windshield and most of the body are visible as you enter the room. If you do this, install the tube clamp on the tube first, put the ceiling mount up, then put the fan on the ceiling mount and screw the two back together. Also, install the fan blades after the fan is up on the ceiling. This makes getting to the wiring so much easier. I'm not sure who is making these fan power units now but this is our second one recently that has a significant delay between when you flip the switch to when the light actually comes on. We have two other remote controlled fans in the house that do not have this delay. While the remote is convenient sometimes, we still use the wall switches to turn the lights on and off. Finally, it's important to note that the light is directed straight downward and does not get diffused to the sides or spread out through a piece of glass or plastic. Because of this the area behind the helicopter is darker than the rest of the room. The area to the front gets light from the windshield lights. Other than that it looks really neat and kids will love it.A very different product for girls for both ventilation and lighting. It created a different image for the room. The fan has 6 levels and I can easily get the breeze I want. It can ventilate the room immediately.
