This was by far the cheapest option in retractable fans so I definitely felt like I was taking a chance in ordering it. My fan came with brown blades-the pictures have both brown and clear blades and it's probably a crapshoot which you'll get.I kept my expectations low and wasn't surprised that the installation instructions were poorly translated and somewhat difficult to understand.Some things to note: it helped that my father was once certified as a master electrician and we both have a little familiarity with electrical code and had supplies on hand. Instead of using electrical tape like in the product video we tracked down a collection of very small wire nuts to use as the package only comes with 2. We did have to strip a few of the wires back further than they came, particularly the led device ones that came with the wire tips poorly tinned- just snip those ends off. All in all assembly was straightforward the installation went pretty smoothly using the wire nutsThe settings are pretty no frills and the remote is simple-no surprise considering the price. Cool, warm, natural light settings you change by pressing the light on/off button- you have to turn the light on and off to get it to the color you want. There's no dimmer. For the fan you've got low/medium/high and stop. No fancy breeze settings or anything. There is a 1H/2H/4H/8H timer though. The manual mentions a reverse fan setting for winter but doesn't explain how to switch to it- there's no switch or button on the remote. I tried installing the remote mount on my wall but the screws that came with it have rounded heads and stick out -making it tough to put in/remove the remote and they scratched up the back. Right now I'm just using Velcro on my wall and the back of the remote since that mount just wasn't working for me.All that said : 5 stars. I love this thing. Super quiet. Great breeze. The light is bright and I love the different temperatures. I've always wanted a fan with the retractable blades and now I have one and it works great at a great price.
