I've had experience installing several similar LED products for friends and neighbors, but I didn't get to choose those. Even while installing those models I was concerned about their quality as the frames did not seem rigid enough to support the seal. This one however has a better design in which the seal is well supported. The IP65 rating does not mean "waterproof" like James Bond's underwater car, but is on the higher end of "water resistant", a product protected from low pressure water jets from any angle. Unless you want to pay top dollar for some high end commercial grade equipment this is what you want.This installation was for my workshop entrance and the light is partially protected by an awning. The awning does cause the light to come on earlier in the evening, but I'm fine with that. My normal use is to switch on the light when I want it, and if I leave it on for security while I'm away I don't mind at all for it to come on a little earlier.For me the wattage/lumen rating of this light is perfect for residential use. Plenty bright, yet not high power consumption.The device was not very difficult to install. The instructions I received are in English and French, and they aren't bad. What they refer to in English as "expansion pipes" are to me wall anchors. The screws are a metric M8, and although I did not find it in the instructions a 3/8" hole was the correct size for me to accommodate the anchors. You may find it a little easier to tighten the lag screws using a wrench or small ratchet wrench rather than by the phillips slot as the lamp body prevents an easy angle for the phillips.If you are installing by the "arm mounting" method and some other methods there is plenty of power cord, but my one complaint is that only 5" of cord extend beyond the flush surface of the wall mount, and for at least my installation a couple of extra inches would have been even better.My cell phone image is not very good, but perhaps you can at least see that the lamp is very bright! I'm quite happy with it so far.
