I received this helmet last night and wore it into work this morning. It's one of the, if not the most comfortable helmets I own. It is not overly large, no "mushroom" look; I also own a Daytona low profile (novelty) helmet and this helmet is only marginally larger, maybe a 1/2 inch wider, and it's a DOT approved helmet (required in my state). The leather covering is very nice, matches the black leather fender bras and saddlebags on my trike. I wear a 7 1/8 size hat, and the large size helmet fit perfectly; the included mesh skull cap does not add any bulk and I like it much better than those that have an elastic band.
