Easy To Use Tint - Add Hardener - Shake - Spray
Very happy with this product. However, the instructions are a little lacking. Here's what I did:- Start by scuffing everything with 60-80grit sandpaper. If you can't reach something to sand it well, hit it with adhesion promoter instead. Any bare metal should be sprayed with U-Pol Acid #8 primer.- I bought tint from monstaliner (they sell a similar, but more expensive product and the tint is available on their website). It was $30 for an 8 ounce can, which is enough tint for all 4 cans in this kit. Use 1/4 of the can per bottle (2 oz.).- In the instructions they say that there are markings on the bottle for where to fill the hardener and the color, but there are not. You can either measure 250ml of hardener and 100ml of color, or you can fill the bottle to the top indentation with hardener and then put 2 oz. (1/4 can) of the monstaliner color in (=60ml, which still provided the correct color for me).- If you're not using the monstaliner color, you are supposed to tell your paint supply place to ONLY give you the tint, none of the other stuff that they put in paint.- This stuff has to dry above 68* for 3 days, so make sure you plan ahead.- Acetone worked well to clean the gun, they recommend "gun cleaner" but i didn't have that. There are a number of good youtube videos on painting with the stuff, but it is fairly easy to get right.
